‘Red Plus Red’ is about conversations that don’t go quite right.

While developing my art esthetic over the years, I realized that I was constantly drawn to edgier, more abstract pieces that might be considered ‘colorless’ by some but exciting to me. It was time to challenge myself to leave my more colorful pieces behind for a while and attack a more subdued piece which had been in the back of my mind for quite a while.

By studying the work of mixed media and textile artists like Lorna Crane, of Sydney, AU, I was even more determined to tackle the color pallet of black, white, and red. I could feel the strong form and motion of her work quite clearly and  felt that her use of a more subtle color palette had created very high impact compositions that I understood.
