A Day in the Life of the Pond

I live in a beautiful part of the country, Ann Arbor, Michigan. And when I want to visit peaceful landscapes and countryside uniqueness I’m lucky to only have to drive a mile away from my home. Very close by is a crossroads with uniquely huge ponds on each corner that are only inches away from the roads. They have always been the permanent homes of two swans, their nest, and eventually their babies. I was lucky to not have to be concerned about traffic one day, so I quickly parked on the side road and photographed a new family. Of course this photo gave me the inspiration to create my watercolor, “A Day in the Life of the Pond”. I like creating multiple stories on one painting and this one gave me much joy while working on it.
